Woodside Residence
Set on a hillside sit in San Mateo County, this contemporary home nestles into the sloping site while simultaneously opening outward toward the expansive property and views of the San Francisco Bay. With copious amounts of mullioned glass, the house glows like a lantern set upon the knoll.
The lighting is devised to help form a journey through landscape on the 13-acre site. On the interior, linear lighting and monopoints call attention to the subtle lines of the architecture, finely-honed craftsmanship and rich palette of materials: reclaimed sinker cypress on the exterior, and white oak, board-formed concrete, blackened steel and zinc on the interior.
